Whoops.

So, over the last year or so, I've noticed that there has been a baby boom in the horse blogging community. Even Funder's pregnant! I thought I was safe, what with being on the other side of the world and all, but apparently not.

With all the drama and stress happening with Allie, I've managed to accidentally get up the duff.

Yep.

I'm 10 weeks pregnant people. I'm due on the 6th March. Do you know what this means? No competing Allie this year, even though she now seems to be on her way to a full recovery. It also means that I'm not going to get much riding in before this baby comes along to completely change my life.

I am going to get back on Allie - Natalie is going to give her her first few rides back to make sure she isn't going to kill me and then I'll just be taking it easy. The mare isn't fit in any sense of the word (neither am I!!) so I'm hoping to get her going back under saddle over the next few months then hopefully I can have Natalie or someone else keep her ticking over until I'm able to take over the ride again. Depending on finances, I may send her off to the trainer for a month or so to start over fences (FINALLY) when I have the baby so I don't need to worry about her while I learn to be a mum. I think it's important for my happiness and health to get back to riding, and it is important for Allie to have a job again as she is turning into a brat with nothing to do but eat.

Soooo... That's that I guess. I AM glad to be having a baby, but I took quite a few weeks to come to terms with it and with the plans I had to scrap or change to accommodate. My husband is over the moon, and I'm actually really happy about it now. :)

This makes it a global blogger baby boom.

Congratulations and I am so glad that you will not have to worry about Allie at the same time. I love being a Mommy. Years ago I would never have imagined myself writing that! You will too.

Does this mean you can get a pony, too?

You people keep your baby making juices over there, thanks... it's an epidemic right now!

Haha.

Seriously, though... congrats! It sounds like you've got a solid plan in place and if your horse keeping is any indication, you'll be an excellent mommy :)

That's what I keep telling people - that I have prior experience with the horses. Some nod knowingly, some give me the weirdest looks.
