I can't work my horse at night after work. It's too dark, and the floodlit areas on my property (they haven't sold it yet, we are still living there) are lumpy and sloped and my horse hates it.
Enter my bright idea.
I have been toying with the idea of riding before work. This would involve me getting up at some ungodly hour but it would be worth it to get my horse worked each day, right? Leaving Saturdays for fun non-schooling rides.
I did it this morning. It was awesome. Friking FREEZING but awesome! Nat rode too and she said Gracie was so good - they are working on snappy canter transitions and they are getting somewhere with it. :)
My horse had the shits - she whinnied for her breakfast quite enthusiastically because I was early. When I started tacking up she got narky! "Mum, it is BREAKFAST time, not riding time! WTF is wrong with you?!"
She did eventually relax and worked well in the end, so that was a win.
All I need to do is get my horse clipped (that's another whole post tbh!) and we will be good to go.
:D
